We conduct assessment tests before you begin, so we know your level and can therefore plan your lessons. If you are preparing to enter an educational institute here in the US or planning to emigrate to Canada or Australia, we offer coaching for TOEFL and IELTS exams. We offer private lessons and group classes (the groups are smaller and more intimate, so we can focus more on each student) at all levels. We provide the online tools and materials, so all you need to bring to class is your enthusiasm and willingness to learn!

I have been studying English for one year with my teacher Rashaan. Due to the pandemic, I have no choice but to take online class. In the beginning I was concerned this won't work for me very well. but Rashaan is very professional who uses his own way of making me adapt to this setup very fast. Now I can easily read some books and I am speaking a lot of English. I really appreciate him very much and he makes me feel more confident.
Anurdha has been an excellent teacher for me. She is making me prepared for TOEFL and we are almost done at the time I am writing this review. I learned a lot and had a huge progress since I started with her. I really recommend her if you want to improve your english for work, or social life or if you want to get prepared for Egnlish exams like TOEFL.
Small size, content focus ESL institute located in the East Bay. Ma'am Anu is a passionate English teacher who has a goal in teaching non-native English speakers succeed in their language goals. She is a cheerful and occasion "pushy" teacher who has certain expectation for every student. If you wish to learn English in a smaller environment, connect with other students come from variety background in English, to learn and get motivated among the peers, this will be a great place to start with. By the way, I took the class for academic IELTS and received my Band 7 last month. Thanks to Ma'am Anu being "pushy" as I was rather a procrastinating student due to hectic schedule at work. But it worked out for me! =)
I am Lucy, I come from China. When I retired I wanted to learn English to enrich my life. I have been with Anuradha since January 2020, she’s a very kind and patient English teacher, she knows the problems of every student, so she can push us and give us some good advice to improve our reading and speaking skills. When I just came to America I didn’t knew how to my communication skills. I had some basics, but it was not easy for other people to understand me. Along my life I had taken many different English courses - high school, college, private lessons and also many apps - but those became quickly repetitive and demotivating. The experience at ESLGI was far different, keeping me motivated and focused with challenging activities, and with noticeable progress from lesson to lesson. The clases are organized in small groups according to your level. Within your group you discuss weekly topics focused in what you really need to learn to improve your grammar, vocabulary and ability to express yourself orally and in writing. The school has highly qualified teachers, with incredible kindness and patience, always caring for all their students.
I scored 8 out of 9 in IELTS!!! It wouldn't have happened without Padma's and Anu's help. They are very knowledgeable, experienced in this field, but what really intrigued me that they are passionate about what they do.
On day one they assessed my level on all modules based on my plans on taking the test, they created a roadmap.
We discussed it together and that sounded a plan.
We worked based on that, there were times I'll get slow due to my full time job and distractions in life but they got me back on track. Definitely that's not possible without the extra efforts from them. There were days I got off days from work and they encourage me to visit the institute and they will arrange for 1 -1 class to keep on track. Who does that? People with passion!
They were super nice, I was comfortable working them , I would approach them with my work anytime and get feedback.

I loved working with Anu and Padma, they are absolutely cool, friendly and very well experienced ! My Toefl exam was scheduled just a week away before I attended their classes. They were able to assess my knowledge in reading, writing, speaking and listening in a very short span of time, figure out my weaknesses and strengths, helped me score more than expected in sections where I could do well and gave me tips to score well in sections were I couldn't do well to increase my overall cutoff score. Padma was very helpful to provide classes from home for few hrs that built my confidence. Finally, I got admission in one of the good universities in California, thx to Anu and Padma! Highly recommended!!
